ABOUT US
Our History
ESR Motor Systems got its start in a Rock Hill, South Carolina garage in 1973 as an electric motor shop operating under the name Electric Service and Repair. Over the next two decades, under the guidance of owner, James McCrorie, the motor shop grew to become one of the most successful in the Southeast.In 1989, Mr. McCrorie sold the motor repair business to Reliance Electric to be their Southeast service center. He kept ESR going, however, keeping a couple of key employees and focusing strictly on the sale of new motors and drives.
Now one of the premier electric motor distributors in the United States, ESR employs nearly 50 people across six states. Nearly 50 years in, it feels like we are just getting started!

HOW WE GO TO MARKET
End Users & OEMs
Each warehouse location has an outside sales force whose primary purpose is to support our end user and OEM customers in the field. They are backed up by a team of inside salesmen, also based at each warehouse location, who handle day-to-day quote and order processing. Distributors
Our National Division based out of Mobile, AL handles most of our distributor customers including motor shops, power transmission distributors, and electrical supply houses. Keeping separate from our direct-sales force helps prevent most channel conflict. To speak to a National Division customer service representative contact us here.
International customers
We have substantial experience selling internationally, and enjoy the many relationships we have built. We do require our non-U.S. customers to make payment in advance via wire transfer. To speak to a customer service representative contact us here.
Retail business
While most of our business is with larger industrial and commercial customers, we do supply small businesses and even individuals as well. Anyone may feel free to stop in at our warehouse locations, call us, or request a quote on this website. Payment must be made in advance with credit card.
Credit terms
The majority of our customers are industrial businesses purchasing on account. If you would like to establish credit with ESR, please contact us here or complete the online credit application. Please note that non-U.S. based customers are not eligible.
Pricing

This eCommerce site is designed to serve ESR's industrial customer base. Without an account, users can search our item database, but can only see limited information pertaining to those items.
