GE's mid- and low-voltage motor business was purchased by Wolong Electric in 2018.  While under new ownership, the company continues to manufacturer a wide range of motors, geared towards heavy industries, under the GE brand.  New investment is leading to expanded low and medium voltage electric motor offerings, and they remain a leader in DC motors.  

GE has been growing market share in the United States thanks especially to short lead times on custom motors and a full featured, high quality line of vertical hollow shaft motors.
